Take a Peek inside...

With every bedding set I sell, I ask the client to send me a picture of the completed nursery.  Look at this wonderful Dr. Seuss room!

Thanks for the peek inside your nursery, Annie!  I love it! :)

Finding Normal

Well, the big boys are in school, so it's me and the little tyke at home during the day.  Sometimes, there's a hard adjustment to a new schedule, but this transition has been pretty easy...  I miss those bigger kids, but I'm loving the quiet afternoons.  The little guy takes a nice long nap every afternoon...  It's glorious, I tell you, glorious.

So, I've been busy in the afternoons.  You wanna see what I've made?  Here you go!

4 piece crib bedding set. Ready to Ship. Brown and Blue. Oh, wait, you've seen this one before...  I got a new camera, so I took the pictures again.  Doesn't it look so much better??  :)
Custom Crib Bedding Set. Hooty Hoot Starburst Green. Made to Order I just love yellow, blue and green together...  It's so lovely and even gender neutral!
Custom Crib Bedding Set. Hooty Hoot Starburst Green. Made to Order I've made three of these...  And I'm making a similar one again next week..  :)  Who doesn't love Dr. Seuss??
Add Piping to your Custom Crib Bumpers. My new camera can do some fun DSLR tricks, but it's a point and shoot!  How fun!

I've had fun finding a new normal, now that school has taken my two oldest children away all day long...  I miss them, but this new normal is pretty good!

Back to School!

Almost.  My two oldest kiddos start school on Monday -- second grade and kindergarten.  It has been a long summer.  I'm so ready for the quiet of a school day.  We've started practicing the bedtime routine.  My kids don't know how to sleep in, so mornings are not a problem.  I'm stoked.  Bring it on.

This summer has been fun, but not very productive, and I've got some fun things in the works.  A few more crib bedding sets and a twin bedding set.  I'm almost done making a couple of dresses for a friend's daughter...  I can't wait to show pictures of everything I've been doing.

A few pictures of this summer's fun:

Etsy

Now that I've got my ArtFire Studio set up and running, I'm opening my Etsy storefront.  There is no denying that Etsy provides more exposure for handmade products, but the venue costs me more, so my pricing will be better on ArtFire...  Hopefully, when I am more established, I'll be able to focus my energies into one venue rather than two...

Have you gotten the coupon code from the Facebook Fan page?  It expires soon, so use it!  It will be gone soon.

I hope you have had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.  I don't want the weekend to end!  My middle child graduates from Pre-K tomorrow...  Am I ready for this?

Crib Bedding Now Available

I've finished two crib bedding sets, and I just love them.  :)  The orange and green one is so fun and colorful.  The green print is called Dancing Paisley by Kaffe Fassett.  It's such a fun print.  My boys love the colors, too.  My middle child's favorite color is green and the oldest's favorite is orange...  And the baby just loves to play with the soft, soft minky fabric.  I found him playing in a pile of scraps this morning.

I fell in love with this collection by Robert Kaufman.  It's called Effervescence, and it is just beautiful...  If I was going to redo my baby's room, I think I would do it in this fabric.  :)

Maybe you would like to see something in the blue colorway? It is breath-taking.  Effervescence Bubbles Blue  It's also out of stock.  It should become available again around the end of June.  I'm definitely going to try to buy some when I find it...

Nursery bedding is a very personal choice, so custom orders are encouraged.  :)

Grand Opening!

The first coupon code is out! Check out the Facebook Fan page to find it.  It has a limited number of uses, so you'll want to find it and use it right away!

Happy long weekend everyone!

Fabric Addiction

Hello.  My name is Kara.  And I am an addict.  I am addicted to fabric.

I had a Groupon  to my local independent fabric store, Keep Me In Stitches.  It is not easy for the fabric addicted to walk into a fabric store and exercise restraint.  Gosh it's HARD!  I walked out with 10 yards of cotton gorgeousness, including the paisley pictured above.  Isn't it awesome?

I think the guy helping me at the store freaked out a bit when I told him I was looking for prints for boys.  He showed me to the rack that has the various prints with cars, trucks, bugs, and monsters.  I have no problem with cars, bugs, monsters, or any of that...  I mean, really.  I'm a mom of three boys.

But, today, I was looking for non-girly, non-themey fabrics.  And, I think I found some great fabrics.

I can't wait to show you what my fun new fabrics become!

Facebook and Twitter

Do you love facebook?  How about Twitter?  I love facebook.  Love it.  I love staying connected to my friends and family all over the country, and I love having a peek into the lives of my facebook friends.  I'm new to Twitter, but I am enjoying how Twitter lets me eavesdrop on the lives of celebrities and friends.  I guess it's not really eavesdropping, since they did actually post their tweets for everyone to see.

Last night, I watched a live chat with Bert Kreischer from Bert the Conqueror through facebook.
Have you seen that show?  It's on Travel Channel, and I love it.  We DVR all the episodes...

Anyway, I think social media rocks.

I've set up a facebook account and a twitter account for the store, and I'd love it if you would like me in facebook and follow me on twitter.  I'll be releasing some coupon codes through social media over the next week, gearing up for Grand Opening weekend at the end of the month.  Are you ready?  Follow the links below to get in on the action.  :)

Getting Started -- Round 2

Not long after my last post, we found out that we were moving.  My husband's job was relocated from Texas to Florida...  So, my business plans were set aside while I prepped our home for sale and made all the preparations for moving halfway across the country.

We've been in Florida for three months now, and we like it here.  I miss the great state of Texas, but I know that we are in the right place for us right now.

ANYWAY... I'll be open for business on Monday, May 2nd, so be on the lookout for some great stuff for the boys in your life.

Also, I'm toying with the idea of starting a blog dedicated to crafting for boys.  Look for that in a few weeks.

Life is good!  I hope you're enjoying it as much as I am!
